Corn casserole recipe and a RAK

Yum! I can't wait until Thanksgiving dinner. Every year we make way too much food and wind up eating it for days! But that means I don't have to cook for days!
One of the more recent additions to our dinner traditions is corn casserole. Of course we always have green bean casserole, mashed potatoes, the turkey, rolls, and so on.
A few years ago, a friend of mine introduced one of her family's traditional favorites.
And that's the recipe I'm sharing with you today!

And now on to the RAK for this week.
I showed you a sneak peek of the fabulous kit Ramona is releasing tomorrow.
All you have to do to win the kit is tell me something about your true love. How did you meet? What's your favorite thing about him? Anything you'd like to share ... and you'll have a chance win Love Walks In!! Easy peasy!
My true love is my boyfriend. He's really my soul mate.
My favorite thing about him is he makes me laugh.

My husband and I met online, which is still pretty taboo, even though 1 in 8 people meets their spouse online. I wasn't sure if it would go anywhere or not, but we enjoyed talking online. He didn't have a cell phone at the time, and we hadn't met in person, but he wrote me an email after we had been talking for a month. It said he was leaving for Marine Corps recruit training, and that he would love it if we could write letters. He said he'd understand if I didn't feel comfortable giving him an address, but that if I was willing, we could write to each other.

I took a leap of faith, and, since my address was a box, I didn't think it was AS dangerous if he turned out to be some creepy stalker, and gave him my address... we wrote letters for the 3 months he was gone, and fell in love through them.

The day he got home, we went on our first date... and it was love at first site. That very first day we met in person, he asked me to be his girlfriend in the sweetest manner. That was November 10, 2008. On May 1, he asked me to marry him, only 3 days before he left for Camp Lejeune (he had been training in Missouri, so I was able to visit him often). I said yes, and we started planning a wedding for the following year, probably around June. Then I found out I was graduating at semester, and we looked at perhaps a January wedding, of next year.

He called me June 12, while I was on vacation, and told me he was deploying. He asked if I was willing to marry him sooner than expected. I said "How soon?" He said "I can be home next month. What do you think of July 12?" We were married July 12, and are expecting our first child, due July 10 of next year. He's deployed to Afghanistan right now, but we are still able to talk, and I love him more than anything.
